that line looks fine. can you paste it in notepad and and re-paste it in wp-config to make sure we don't have any weird characters?

ok, if you think that that's causing the pb and if you remove it, do you still get the 500 error?

The only way to know more about the crash is if you can get your hands on the error log. Also, if you can restore a prev "last-known-good" backup 

Yeah, that looks like a suspect plugin.

I'm not sure if your current version is hacked or not. A wordPress upgrade does not erase the plugin.

Yes, delete the plugins one by one to see which one is the culprit.

you can do something like that: download all the plugins, then delete them on the server. Do the same with the themes, keep one default WordPress theme. (You can restore them later) If the server still returns 500 error then it must be a pb with the WordPress core files. the pb with reinstalling WordPress is the content (media files + database).
