Hello, I’m having an issue with the Bennet theme — the cover images in the Highlights section (template Portfolio Showcase) are not displaying. I can see the project titles and subtitles (e.g. “Product Design”), but the background images do not appear at all — only a black background.
Here’s everything I’ve already tried:
Set images in Hero Image and Thumbnail Image under Portfolio Item Options → Hero Section / Showcase Templates.
Added a Featured Image in the right sidebar for each project.
Regenerated thumbnails using Regenerate Thumbnails Advanced.
Cleared browser cache and site cache (Imagify / LiteSpeed).
Confirmed that the Highlights page uses the Portfolio Showcase template.
Duplicated the Playground page, changed the template, and compared settings. The images display correctly in Playground, but not in Highlights.
Reinstalled the Bennet theme from ThemeForest to restore the original files.
It seems the Portfolio Showcase template is not reading or displaying the assigned images (Hero, Thumbnail, or Featured).
Could you please check if there’s a known issue or a fix so that the cover images appear correctly in the Highlightssection?
try to add any text block for example paragraph with a text "123" and save a page, then watch result. Later when you delete 123 all images will stay. Maybe it can help with a pages content. And in every portfolio item go to "hero Section" tab and add hero image from your local space then go to Showcase templates tab and add Thumbnail image from your local storage too, if all hero Images fields and all thumbnail image fields are filled with links, your Showcase should suddenly start to work. I don't know why, maybe it's some bug, but I met same problem and solved it this way. Can I please see your project? if yes, then pls specify link. just curious :)
yes sure: https://virginiagennuso.com/highlights/ that's the page, you can see here just the tiles but not the images as a background, but I have already set images in Hero Image and Thumbnail Image.
If you import demo data, try replacing hero demo images for ALL portfolio items with images coming from your domain/media library, on some sites the webgl (the library the highlights slider is built upon) will complain about images coming from a different domain due to a enforced CORS policy.
You can change the hero image in portfolio item options and you can find the original demo images there (imported)
If you still have issues send us wp admin access in a private comment so we can verify.
