No matter what margin I have set for the last item on the left side of the menu in style 1, the first item on the right side is not given the same amount of offset on the left as the last item on the left has on the right. This is visually very annoying and there must be a way to tweak the margins. Please see attached screen shot.

You must assign margins to ALL your menu items to make it work, not just one or two
