I have some important video work that I must add to our portfolio but I'm having difficulty figuring out how to embed. I'm working with some widgets but no luck so far.
Could you please tell me how to get video working in the portfolio? I'm sure lots of other users would like to know as well!

You say I can use the video embed code, but as far as I can see, portfolio items are made from featured images. Where do I put the embed code for it to display as a video portfolio item?
Okay, so I can paste the embed code in the editor. Perhaps I needed to be clear I want to use video as a slide in a 'slider' type portfolio. How can I achieve this?

you can embed the video into the html content of the portfolio item.
have a look here:

and check 'Chambre Des Notaires' portfolio item
you can use either the shortcode ( [vimeo id="64256393" height="450" width="800"][/vimeo] )
or the vimeo embed code.

in the html content of the portfolio items (Add/Edit, visual editor, etc)

I don't think it will work as a slide . but if you tell me the portfolio type you want to use, i can direct you to the php file in question
