I am a graphic designer and I thank you for having designed Harington theme which satisfies me a lot and which I have great pleasure in adopting.
However, I have three problems to submit to you:
1. In the portfolio, when I create a new block, on a new item or an existing item, the background color of this block remains white by default regardless of the page background color defined. The background color of the containers seems to fit well, but not the one of the blocks inside the containers (see https://www.alainbethune.fr/harington_portfolio/ptr/).
How to make the background color of these blocks the same as the page background color as it is the case for the blocks of the example items?
2. Still in the items of the demo portfolio, when you scroll to a carousel, the page stops moving and the images of the carousel scroll until the last one, and then the page starts moving again. This is one of the main tricks that made me choose your theme. Now, on my site, both on existing custom pages and on new pages created by me, when you scroll to a carousel, the page continues to scroll without stopping. If we do not know that there is a carousel, impossible to guess it.
How can I get the carousel to scroll like on the demo items?
3. I chose the Spaced Metro page for my portfolio presentation. But I don't understand why the wide and thin elements are neither aligned nor alternated like on the demo page.
How do you think this can be corrected?
Thank you for your attention to my requests and for the follow-up you will give them.
1. I can see that the sections have all white background, the page has #e14367 as background. However you stray paragraphs in the content that adds some stripes above and below the sections.
First of all, I want to apologize if my explanations are sometimes unclear: I have already built and designed complex sites, but I am not a developer. And I'm new to WordPress.
1. Yes, this is the problem. This page (https://www.alainbethune.fr/harington_portfolio/ptr/) was built from the "Moon Purple Dust" item. When I change the page background color (here to pink #e14367) the background of the sections remains white (#ffffff), except for the "stray paragraphs" I added to generate space between the blocks.
I have a similar problem with other pages, for example this one which was copied from "Font Porlane" (https://www.alainbethune.fr/harington_portfolio/ydelle-com/). The default page background color is light gray (#eeeeee), but all the added sections and blocks kept a white background. I don't know how to change the background color of a section or block, so I had to cheat to hide this anomaly by choosing a white page background. But for the previous case (***/ptr/), I would like to get a pink background in all sections and blocks of the page.
2. It's my fault, sorry. I was very quickly seduced by the Horizontal Scrolling Panels and I don't know how I figured out that all the Harington carousels had this feature. I'm just starting out with WordPress, but I went for it immediately. I got my hands under the hood without a real tour of the car... and I hadn't noticed that there were different types of "scrolling blocks". Shame on me 😅
So the solution seems to be to replace all my Harington Carousels with Harington Horizontal Scrolling Panels.
But in this case, since I would have to insert new sections, I might end up with the problem of 1. (background color) again.
3. I must have misunderstood, sorry: on the Spaced Metro template (http://clapat-themes.com/wordpress/harington/spaced-metro/), the thumbnails are perfectly aligned at the top in pairs, alternating Wide on the left + Thin on the right, then Thin on the left + Wide on the right, then Wide on the left + Thin on the right, etc. On my page (https://www.alainbethune.fr/spaced-metro/), we do have wide and thin thumbnails, but they are grouped in two staggered columns with all the wide thumbnails on the left and all the thin thumbnails a little lower on the right (see also attached screenshots).
And so, I was asking if you knew how to correct this to get a layout that resembles the original template layout which I find very lively, balanced and perfect for presenting heterogeneous projects. What I got, on the other hand, looks rather cluttered and crushes the thin thumbnails as if they were less important projects.
Thank you for your attention to my requests and for the follow-up you will give them.
you need to select the parent Harington container and then change the background color in its settings
3. You need to change the thumbnail properties in succesion. For example in our demo we have it like this (starting with the first item): wide - normal - normal - wide -wide-normal-normal-wide
if you encounter problems with any of the above, plz send us wp admin access in a private comment

We are very glad that you are enjoying our theme.
1. I can see that the sections have all white background, the page has #e14367 as background. However you stray paragraphs in the content that adds some stripes above and below the sections.

Thank you very much for your quick answer.

Hi there,
1 & 2. you are in luck because it's actually very easy. I can see that you are using Gutenberg so I 'm sending you a screenshot with the settings:
https://prnt.sc/GD8VUEAJBSKC
you need to select the parent Harington container and then change the background color in its settings
3. You need to change the thumbnail properties in succesion. For example in our demo we have it like this (starting with the first item): wide - normal - normal - wide -wide-normal-normal-wide
if you encounter problems with any of the above, plz send us wp admin access in a private comment
Thank you.

Hello ClaPat,
Thank you very much for your help and your patience.
1 & 2. I had not yet noticed this icon which allows to open the parameters column on the right (I prefer not to tell you how ridiculous I feel).
3. I'll try the solution you suggest and if I don't get anywhere, I'll send you an administrator access as you invite me to do.
Thanks again.
Best regards,
Alain Bethune
Everything is ok now. You are angels! Thanks a lot.
