Hello - Great theme! I'm having an issue where my video (using Full Screen Video Background w/a YouTube link) is not showing up (neither is the custom thumbnail spec'd in YouTube) on iPhone or iPad devices. There seems to be a "Video Placeholder" image instead. It works ok in Safari and Firefox on the desktop but in Chrome on the desktop it's slow to load and seems to start on my second line of copy not the first. Thank you!
The full screen video for the home page will not play on mobile devices. I don't know why as I have seen other themes where the video home page plays fine but it may be the yt player.
Go into your images folder and find the file with the name video-placeholder.jpg and replace that with a jpg file of the same name using an image that you want to show when people view your sire on mobile devices.
The original file is 1500px wide by 800px
I'm not support so don't have an answer to the issue you have with chrome sorry. Hope you can get that sorted soon.
Not exactly sure what's exactly the issue on desktop chrome. Site is running slow? (not related with the video image bknd - since it's displayed on mobile devices) thx
Thanks Chris - I swapped out that image and it worked. Hard to believe it cant play on mobile devises at this point. I heard from a programmer I use often on the issue - not sure if this is true but thought i'd pass it on:
"As for the video not playing in iOS, Apple has disabled autoplay on unknown sites for security reasons. The user has to click to play. This keeps things safer, and also keeps the phones from dying, downloading unnecessary data. No way around it."
This theme doesn't seem to support the click to play part - it just shows the static image.
I checked the yt player plugin on wordpress.org and they said this
"The mb.YTPlayer doesn't work on any mobile devices (iOs, Android, Windows, etc.) due to restrictions applied by the vendors on media controls via javascript."
Hopefully that will change.
I really love several of the home page options with this theme but the video is my favorite and if that worked on mobile devices too that will be sweet. Maybe in the near future.
