I've been doing some work on my work's site after not not touching for a couple of months. It was brought to my attention that the portfolio is not working. Could i get some advice on this? Also has the theme updated since early October?
I have a added gzip and an expiration time to the .htaccess file to increase speed, other than that I haven't made any changes since October.
Hi Chris. I had a similar issue and another theme user worked out some code that helped the galleries load. It may or may not work but i'll pass it on here just in case. I believe the original issue came down to some host. I was with yahoo at the time. Anyway here is the code for your custom css
.element_fade_in {
opacity: 1;
position: relative;
padding-left: 0px;
right: 0px;
}
Something to do with the opacity setting from memory. Good luck.
I tried adding this code to the custom CSS but nothing changed. I'll try again in a few minutes and see if anything changes, sometimes it takes a few minutes for changes to appear. ClaPat, do you guys have any input in to what may be causing this issue?
Thanks for the input. I added in the CSS and cleared the cache and it's still not working. Is there a way to have videos in the pop up window style portfolio? I like the drop down style, it looks great, but right now I really need functionality more than anything. Please let me know, I really need to find a solution to this problem quickly. Thanks for your help!
i get this error in the browser console whenever i try to open an expander:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)
go to Settings permalinks and press save and make sure the .htaccess file is writable on the server. Something has changed related with urls on your website.
I discovered why my permalinks have been messing up the portfolio. When I reset the permalinks according to the instuctions above it rewrote the .htaccess file in my root folder. I have an "uploads" folder in the root folder also, that I use to transfer large files to clients. When it rewrites it creates a redirect that messes up this upload folder. The way I have my wp setup is I have an index.php in the root folder which references a "wordpressdev" folder which has all of the wordpress files. Is there a way to have it rewrite to the .htacess in the "wordpressdev" folder? Could I just copy/paste the info that was written from the root .htacess file into the one in the "wordpressdev" folder? I'm attaching a screen shot of my root folder in case that helps.
I just had an emergency situation where a client tried to download a file and got a 404 error. I saved a copy of the rewritten .htacess and replaced it with the original blank file, which facilitated the download, but disabled the portfolio again.
Here's the content of the rewritten .htaccess file in the root folder. Currently, I have a blank one in it's place for the upload. But this is the one that enables the portfolio to work.
this is a bit of network admin territory but from what I know, it may work as well in worpdressdev folder as long as the paths in .htaccess are referenced correcly depending on its location
So, I found a solution to this. Probably not the most elegant but it works. I deactivated super cache and set the permalinks to default. This got it to stop rewriting the .htaccess file so I now have a functioning portfolio and access to subfolders.

Actually it's been since August since I've updated the theme.

I find with this theme I always have to clear the cache before any changes become apparent.

Hi Chris,
the issue is related with the permalinks.
