    When I upload a video hero to be displayed on the portfolio/main page. The video is displayed at the wrong resolution when in Creative Carousel mode. Or more accurately, it is cropped. The ratio should be the same, so is it possible to shrink it down so that I can have video hero images play in Creative Carousel mode without it cutting off the edges of the video. The videos I'm using are in standard 1920x1080, but it would be good if it works with larger resolutions as well.

    Hi Jay,

    this is a matter of displaying the video in the current viewport while preserving the original aspect ratio:

    [UPDATE: disregard this comment]

    Hi,

    I don't think that is what is happening here. It is cropping it on all sides. The video aspect ratio is 16:9, but at all desktop resolutions it cuts off the video. So even when looking at it on a 2k screen, it is cutting off ALL edges - not just height or width. Can 16:9 videos not be displayed correctly in carousel mode? See attachment for screenshot of issue.

    My Bad. Think there might be an issue with the upload. Will amend and check.

    Side question: I'm guessing all the portfolio hero images have to be the same size resolution.

    Hello Jay,

    Ok, plz verify. Yes, keep the images approx same size at least same aspect ratio for the fullscreen slider to avoid stretching and other unwanted effects

    Thank you.

    Hi, Sorry for late reply.

    EDIT: Original video did have an incorrect resoltion. But uploading a 1920x1080 video and it still seems to be cutting off the edges of it.

    Possible related issue:

    The hero title fill colour is half cut off - see attached image. I have both the portfolio item and hero title filled in as the same in the portfolio item options. What else could be causing this problem?

    Hi Jay,

    regarding the video and the hero title text effect if we can inspect your site (so we need your site URL) I assume that both issues involve the home page

    Thank you.

    Yes, both issues are on the home page 'creative carousel' portfolio.

    The website isn't currently live accept a coming soon page. So I guess I need to make it live for you to investigate it?

    The URL is: http://www.jayloe.com/

    The main issue is the text displaying incorrectly.

    Whilst it would be nice to have 1920x1080 video play in the hero section, a workaround would be to just export it as 1280x720 and have the full quality video separately when you click through to the portfolio item page. Guess it may even load quicker. (Although full screen slider might be too blurry).

    No, you can send us wp admin access but in a private comment so we can inspect the home page - and if necessary to escalate your ticket to our web designer

    Hi,

    The title issue was generated because you have left the subtitle field empty.

    Add new css code for video. Please make a hard refresh and test again

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    Video crop looks good now thanks.

    Did a hard reload and empty cache.

    Still have text issue even when text is in subtitle. See pic. Tried on Brave and Edge.

    What else would affect it?

    Hi Jay,

    theta's the intended design effect. To remove it, try adding the following in customizer -> additional CSS

    #showcase-carousel-holder .move-caption {
        clip-path: inset(0px 0px 0px 0px) !important;
    }

    Thank you.
