    Please see the related URL. There is a crazy amount of white space between the image and the image caption. Switched from Elementor to Gutenberg in hope of a fix, but no... Please help.

    I just noticed it works well for images with more height. Not that this is a solution because I want it to work for all images. Or just not show at all, that might actually be better. Thanks in advance.

    try adding in customizer -> additional CSS

    .full figure {
        height: auto !important;
    }
