My question would be whether it would be somehow possible to play a fullscreen video when you call up the home page, right at the beginning - in a loop. Nothing else, except menu, logo etc.... In the moment I have the "parallax-carousel".
Would be nice if the video is fullscreen - as with the "parallax slider" (gold man portfolio), there is also a full-screen video running in the background. So somehow it should be possible.
When I deactive the "display hero section" this is what it looks like ---> screenshot attached
meanwhile i found out how I can run a video in the background. I use "cover" and then assigned that to the header. then it is displayed full screen (see screenshot 2) However, I now have the problem that the footter is hanging in the air. sugesstions?

You can hide the footer with CSS if ajax page transitions are off in customizer -> general settings.
Or, you can a create a new page template and ditch the footer elements similar to what happens to the showcase slider. I think you can do everything related with the second solution in the child theme.

Are you able to provide wp admin access? I'm thinking we can prepare a child theme that does just that - hides the footer, actually it does not include it at all - similar to showcase template.
No, not at all, but this all I can do within my scope. I removed all the scrollable elements (hero section and footer) and I left only the default container - using the child theme. You said you have used the cover block which was successful with the footer as the last element to be removed

That is no solution because its not mobile friendly. Catastrophic view on the mobile phone...And if we're honest, that way I tried is not a perfect solution either.
That means the last possibility is the option to adapt the portfolio template (as described in my last message) for the start page - to get the fullscreen video AND that it also looks good on the mobile phone too.

Basically I 'm thinking you can the video in an empty page with hero section disabled and you can configure it to be at least full width.
