I created a website using the Pegasus template. I really like the design, even if it could have been programmed a little bit better from the start (css), but the page speed is extremely slow. A pure text page takes several seconds. What can I do? A theme update would be about time.
I can't really explain since images have a pretty good optimization.
the most time consuming as you can see from the screenshot has a long waiting time which according to their docs:
Waiting (TTFB). The browser is waiting for the first byte of a response. TTFB stands for Time To First Byte. This timing includes 1 round trip of latency and the time the server took to prepare the response.

My network speed currently may not be the best however I assume is server speed issue.
Try installing a caching plugin - we use W3 Total Cache with pretty good results.
Thank you.
