    Hello support,
I have developped this website using Newave wordpress theme. It was working normally untill one month ago. Suddenly the screen went blank and i got this message from my web host:

Wed Sep 10 09:38:21 2014] [warn] [client 185.4.135.89] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in /var/www/vhosts/dollarsforasaint.com/httpdocs/wp-includes/class-wp-error.php on line 209

Given that i haven't touched the website cms after the website launching online, i presume it has something to do with plugin incompatibility?
(i attach the file with the php error)

My web host suggested to restore my website to the previous working version..

Before doing that is there any other idea on why this error occured, or how can i fix it in a simpler way?

    Regards,

    Dimitris M.

Hi, the file indeed has a php syntax error at the end, either the file has been corrupted or changed inadvertently.

    Thanks

    Thank you.

is it possible to edit the php file and correct it?

if yes, what will i have to do?

if no, would you suggest to restore my website through web host backup/restore module to an older functional backup?

  • Dimitris replied

i tried to download via ftp and check the class-wp-error.php file

i found the php syntax error,

checked it with the original installation file,

corrected it by editing the last lines

and uploaded it again via ftp.

but did not solve it, the white screen remains.

would you suggest a restore through webhost platform?

    thanks

    Hi Dimitris,

reinstalling the wp platform will lose all the theme options and media items uploaded to your site.

Would be last solution, make sure you backup/save the theme options before.

Anyway, I have installed WP 4.0 and I'm sending you the file in question, perhaps just replacing it will solve the pb

    Thanks

    Thank you.
