Hello! I'm trying to upload hosted video as a hero video to my portfolio. I'm currently using streamable.com to host. I've seen the previous post about staying away from using Youtube and Vimeo. Just looking for a bit of direction here. It would also be helpful if you could upload the sample footage the way the site is currently built. I'm ok with losing the content that is currently on my website.
It's fairly easy I would say, all you need are direct links to your video files. Youtube and vimeo don't work with <video> tag because the streaming is through their players.
Still not having any luck on my end. Take a look at the attached screenshots. The first screen shot shows where my video is hosted as well as the name of the video. The second and third screen grabs show how I saved the URL in the Wordpress theme options. Unfortunately, none of these options are working for me.
You need direct links to vide o files, I suggest an experiment: upload the file to your media library and then copy the link and paste it to the video options.

a direct link would look like http://URL_PF_THE_SEVER/your-filename.mp4
Once you have the file online you can paste the URL in portfolio item's hero video options
