I have one question. Alot of my work i have to hide behind password protection, due to sensitive nature etc. My plan was to have my latest work on the homepage in the fullscreen slider, and my main work hidden behind a password protected page.
So my question is, can i post to the slideshow/homepage, but not the portfolio grid page? or is there a way to have 5 projects separate to the main portfolio. Reason is i don't want people to sneak into my portfolio via my latest work. If that makes sense.

Hello Andy,
Each portfolio page template has a field where you can paste the category slugs you want to include in the page.
So it will filter portfolio items belonging to these categories.
In your case you can have just a category displayed in the showcase (the public items) and display all of them in the portfolio grid
