The intro video I'd like to play seems to be partially played before the screen loads? Its a 10 second intro vide and it looks like 5-6 seconds of has played when landing on the page. Is this possibly the pre-loader has loaded and started playing the video whole loading up content in the background?

by default the videos have the autoplay attribute

what you require is custom work - removing this flag and starting to play after the preloader ends.
