But that being said, I guess a new issue I'm having is that I'm not seeing the text changes on my end? I'm using safari, and I've checked in Firefox and it seems to not be changing either. Any advice?

Do you have any caching plugin enabled? if so try flushing the cache. And/or hard refresh the page (Ctrl+F5)
