As I would like to set a page as my homepage, I encountered a problem. I notice that in the page options there is not the possibility to add an image as hero image in the page options. However I noticed that I have this possibility when setting up a portfolio item. Could it be possible to integrate this function with an update or telling me how to do that?
Also, regarding the portfolio items, I would like to have the possibility to choose by my own what the navigation footer will be.
Or to summarize in a simpler way: I want to set us my homepage a page that looks like a portfolio item (or a portfolio item by itself), without having the navigation footer of a portfolio item (I am referring to "next project" at the bottom, as I'd rather have a page linked for that), and the possibility to set a hero image at the top. I hope that it can be possible!

Because if this is the case, basically you are telling me that it is impossible to set a static page as my homepage with an header image (which is the basics for a premium template), and I should pay an extra for it?

so let me clarify further. While it's true that you don't have a hero section in ordinary pages (Default Page template) as you have in individual portfolio pages you can have a header image
- disable hero section in page options
- in customizer -> general options disable 'Display Page Title When Hero Section Is Disabled'
At this point you have no hero section at all
- add an image first in content with class 'full' that will stretch it full width
If you want exactly the same header section as in portfolio projects then yes, is custom owrk and usually you have to pay for it. Since it's not a small page we can offer to make the change free of charge we only ask to rate the theme. If you want, let us know.

by design normal pages do not have an image or video background
Technically we can add them for a page as well, but that's custom work.
And, by default, is not possible to add a custom post type (such as portfolio) as front page unless you modify the code:
