if you want to display only posts from a certain category you can use a category filter but why would you want to do that, should display all the blog posts?
I am creating a lifestyle/travel site, so the main page will display categories like "Dining"/"Travel"/"Hotels" with relevant articles and the separate blog page will be a personal travel blog.
