what exactly do you mean by relinking.

This is what you need to do: create first portfolio items in admin -> portfolio and assign hero images to them.

Then you create a page with showcase slider and portfolio creative grid templates - they will display automatically the portfolio items you have created. Assign this page as front page in Settings -> REading.

A good way to start is importing demo data and having a snapshot of our demo site, then you can start customizing it. We can do it for you if you send us wp admin access in a private comment.
