I discovered the problem but I'm not sure what's causing it.

if i go and open the browser console i can see a lot of GET fails that means the browser could not get those files from the server.

One of them is js/jquery.mb.ytplayer.js

however if I go to Appearance -> editor I am able to open it

so at this point i'm not sure but it looks like there something on the server preventing the browser to see them

For example I cannot access

but I can this file:

I can see is that some of the theme's files cannot be delivered by the server
