I like that there is a filter button option on this page (http://817.5ed.myftpupload.com/creative-portfolio-2/) when on a mobile platform, but how can I have it show up for wider screens and desktops? It seems to disappear but I really want the filter option on my portfolio page (would be great if it could be permanent on any portfolio template as I'd love to use maybe the Large Carosol of Fullscreen Showcase option.
Also, I have 3 main categories with sub categories in each (only one is set up though - Commercial), ideally I'd like to duplicate the portfolio pages for each of the three categories, then have the filter option on each. I think this should be possible?
Any help is greatly appreciated, I hope this makes sense!
Hello, I apologize for my late reply to this thread. Thank you for your help! I had one question... Is there a way to have the portfolio template for these separate categories pages be the one that has filters on it? I believe it is called the "Creative Portfolio" template... I would love to be able to filter only select subcategories on each of these pages:
Alternatively, could I just add filters to this default template on both desktop and mobile? Thank you so much (again), having support for this theme is sooo helpful!
Hello, thank you for this explanation I think I understand now. My original idea was to filter only the subcategories, but now that I look at this page: http://817.5ed.myftpupload.com/creative-portfolio-2 I see it just selects all filters regardless of whether I have them set up in a sub category or not.
The way I have it now for example is under "Commercial" there are specific filters for just that category, but after seeing this example I may have to rethink my categories altogether.
Two more questions... Is there a way on the page above to select multiple filters? So I could select "Commercial" and "Area Photography" for instance?
Or, is there a way to link to a sub category like you did with the commercial category? Like this example but for a subcategory instead so like 'portfolio_category/commercial/area-photography/' maybe?:

Hello Morgan
to display the show filters button you can add
#show-filters {
visibility: visible;
display: block;
}
in customizer -> additional CSS
You can display category pages in creative grid layout using a special url, for example
http://817.5ed.myftpupload.com/portfolio_category/commercial/
note the 'portfolio_category' followed by the category slug
Thank you.

Hello Morgan,
I'm not sure I understand. So the portfolio category pages are being displayed with the same portfolio layout as Creative Portfolio
Would like to have the Creative Portfolio page display only these three categories (commercial, drone media, arts and entertainment)?
If you can clarify.
Thank you.

Apologies, I can see how I'm making this very confusing and maybe I'm asking the wrong things... On this page: http://817.5ed.myftpupload.com/portfolio_category/commercial/ - how can I have it show the subcategory filters always?
In the demo example here: http://preview.themeforest.net/item/hervin-creative-ajax-portfolio-showcase-slider-theme/full_screen_preview/23817476?_ga=2.176228901.1049715900.1586384057-1651475914.1566952346 - it shows a button for filters when the screen size is smaller... I don't see any option for filters on my example so am just wondering how to include them for all screen sizes?
Hello Morgan,
in one of my previous comments I gave you the code for enabling the filters on mobile devices in creative portfolio pages.
The category pages such as this one
http://817.5ed.myftpupload.com/portfolio_category/commercial/
do not have any filter since it's always displaying only one category.
the role of the filters is to select the items belonging to a specific category within the current page (so from the items already displayed there)
Thank you.

I have attached a screenshot of how my categories are set up now, that may help.
Thank you sooooo much :)

Hi,
if you are running the latest version (1.2) you can one or more category slugs as filters:
https://prnt.sc/rw83k4
for Portfolio and Portfolio Mixed, Showcase and Carousel page templates
the filters list will display only the filtered categories in this case.
Thank you.

Awesome, thanks! It looks like I am running version 1.1 of the theme, how do I update to 1.2?
Hi,
The latest version of the theme is available for download from envato.
You can remove the theme in the WP dashboard and install the new version.The content and options are not erased between upgrades.
Backup your theme before to be on the safe side.
Alternatively, you can unpack and copy via ftp the latest version.
the folder location is wp-content/themes/
If you did custom work and modified the theme files, you have the merge the changes.
Some of our customers are using Envato Market Wordpress plugin
https://envato.com/market-plugin/
We do not endorse it it's just an alternative way to keep your themes updated.
Thank you.
