Adding up to Manuel Crow's question; Is there a way to add the portfolio (thumbnails) section, to an external portfolio page? This way the users get the chance to visit an external project, but still have their capability to be moving across projects.

I want to add an external portfolio page. How can I do that? As far as I see, I can only add a portfolio section, but not a portfolio page..

Hi there,
Use Portfolio -> Add New
For 'Layout type' specify either
External Project or External Project with Full Slider
If you set a featured image for the portfolio item, it will be shown in the portfolio section.
