I would like the image on the first section of the page (about/your personal marketing/advertising solution) to touch the bottom of the section, similar to that in the demo. However, if I change to container type to full, I lose the formatting of the title and text which I do not want to do.

I don't believe that resizing the image fixes the problem. I think the page/container buffers the top & bottom.
Okay you can modify the .container attributes in theme options Styling Options -> Custom Css
