I'll post this here in case anyone else runs into it.
I was running a minify plugin. Minifying the javascript caused the above effect. Minifying the css caused the testimonials page slider to not display properly.
Turns out it was not the minify plugin. I just happened to switch that off at the same time as I made a style change which happens to be the culprit.
In the theme options under portfolio options if I select "slide" as the hover effect the visited page link does not work properly. The problem is solved by selecting "Overlay" instead.
That simply means I cannot use the "slide" option.
This is odd but whereas the visited page should highlight on the menu it is the page link to the left of the visited page that highlights.
I have tried shutting off plugins. Removed all custom css but nothing seems to work.
Any thoughts?
