Is there a way to add a parallax section to an external page, i.e. not a section?
When I try to assign current page as a 'parallax section', the 'external page' options appear but without the option to add parallax in the same way..?
No problems adding this to the main single page, but I'd like to add the same effect to a few standalone pages, each showing a different (parallax) background image.

yes try adding the html code inside of the page content:
of the parallax section

and the header section
http://clapat-themes.com/wordpress/newave/newave_portfolio/newave/
If you inspect the page you can copy the html code for each section
