Our Portfolio is growing rather large and the Portfolio page is too busy with too many filters. I would like to create three different portfolio pages based on the Top level Categories:
1. Wine
2. Spirits
3. Beer
Is there a way to create Portfolio pages with the filter where taxonomy= portfolio_category and tagname = beer (or wine or spirits)??
this is available only with custom work ( we can do it for a fee) or with one of the 'custom type' plugins - portfolio is a custom type (I'm not aware of any to fit your requirements but they may exist)
Or you can simply specify the category in the url such as

Hello Raza,
this is available only with custom work ( we can do it for a fee) or with one of the 'custom type' plugins - portfolio is a custom type (I'm not aware of any to fit your requirements but they may exist)
Or you can simply specify the category in the url such as
http://clapat.ro/themes/newave-reloaded/portfolio_category/branding/
you can link category pages with buttons in the main page.
Thank you.

Thanks for the info... specifying the category in the URL doesn't seem to work...here are a few examples:
http://www.backalleyimports.com/themes/newave-theme/portfolio_category/whitehttp://www.backalleyimports.com/themes/newave-theme/portfolio_category/baja
am i doing something wrong?
do i have an older version of the theme (i notice yours is newave-reloaded)?
Regards, Raza
Hi Raza, what's the theme version you're using?
Thank you.

I am on Version 2.2.
I do see this working as custom post type here:
http://www.backalleyimports.com/portfolio_category/white/
but it puts it in a Blog format...Is there a way to control that and to have the Category show up as the header?
Regards, Raza
It should work:
http://clapat.ro/themes/newave-wordpress1/portfolio_category/branding/
Can you send us wp admin access to have a look?
Thank you.

Ok looks like you are missing a file.
Can you reinstall the theme to its latest version (you can download it from envato) or at least try copy the attached file to the theme folder.
Thank you.

That did the trick!!! Thanks for your help...

There does seem to be one additional problem. The portfolio_category page seems to only display 10 items...like so:
http://www.backalleyimports.com/portfolio_category/wine/
However, if you go to the full portfolio and then click the Wine filter, you'll see more than 10...any idea how to fix
that?

Along those lines, is there a way to make the option "Our Portfolio" in our menu clickable such that it goes to
http://www.backalleyimports.com/portfolio/?
Thanks in advance, Raza
Hello
You need to increase the number of posts displayed in the page in Settings -> Reading, increase the number of 10
Thank you.

Haha!!! I was so focused on the Portfolio that I forgot about that (I am actually somewhat of a WP expert so quite embarrassing)
What about the linking from Top level menu item to a page? is that only achievable in code?
Just create a page with Portfolio template and don't set it as section
(This Page is a section set to No)
and then just add it to the menu, it should work.
Thank you.
