The main reason i chose to buy this theme is the lightbox gallery and the hover effects. But i don't know how to use these...

Also, when i use the portfolio, the permalink is not what i want: there is "berger_portfolio" in it, which doesn't look quite professional... How do i change this permalink?

And maybe even more useful, how do i put the portfolio of lightbox WITH HOVER-EFFECT on my home page?

    Hi,

    to achieve this:

    http://clapat.ro/berger-wordpress/lightbox-gallery/

select Portfolio Template as page template and enable Enable Lightbox Pop-up For All Projects

in page options -> portfolio template

Select the hover effect in the same place

send us wp admin url, username and pwd if you have difficulties.

To change the permalink go to theme options -> portfolio options -> custom slug and enter the new slug.

After you saved it, go to Settings -> Permalinks and press Save to refresh them

    Thank you.

    Hi back!

Yes i want this effect: http://clapat.ro/berger-wordpress/lightbox-gallery/

Your description seems far too limited (for me). I tried your description but failed horribly. It almost seems like some (or a lot of) information is missing between the lines "Select the hover effect in the same place" and "send us wp admin url, username and pwd if you have difficulties"

I want a (home) page with a gallery /  a gallery on my homepage:

    - each image gets some explanatory text when hovering over it with the mouse
    - when clicking on this image: sometimes i want a link to an outside website, sometimes i want a enlarged image, sometimes i want no further action at all (in other words: i want to choose)

    Thank you!

You can set the hover type in page options.

So when you create the page set its Portfolio Template

Then go to 'Portfolio Template' tab in page options and set 'Enable Lightbox Pop-up For All Projects' to On and Hover Effect to 'Black Hover'

Would be much easier if we can setup the page as an example. If there is a bug, we also want to fix it.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

So I created two portfolio items (you need to create one for each of your lightbox items) and then a page with the options set as described by my prev comments.

    http://www.niwdesign.nl/lightbox/

I assigned categories for each of the items. You can define the categories in Portfolio -> Category

For one of the projects I assigned a different lightbox pop up image (than the thumbnail)

The thumbnail is the featured image

    Thank you.

Probably what I missed putting in my comments is the fact that you need to create the portfolio items first.

    Thank you.

Thx!! Yes i guess your last words were the ones i felt like they were missing out in your first explanation. But now i get it.

So i have another question, 2 actually, which are more or less part of each other:

    1. Can i put a link 'behind' such a portfolio item? Because I would like to link each of my website portfolio items to the live website (target="_blank") when the customer clicks on the item.

    2. Considering the weight all the items combined put on the page (loading time), i would like to be in CONTROL of the pop-up "system". In other words: some of the portfolio items i want to have JUST a hover effect - no pop-up action or what so ever. Is this possible and how?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

then we need to change the approach

We can build a 'normal' portfolio page (not lightbox) take the html source code of the portfolio section and the insert it in a Default page. And you can change the links in html to point to whatever instead of opening portfolio pages.

I'm not sure if this solution works for you, if it does we can try it.

    Thank you.
